Bletchley Park director,
Bletchley Park

Dear Mr/ Ms,

I am writing in response to your advert that you sent me by email on 27th March. It would be an honour for me to work at Bletchley Park as a code-breaker.

I am an 18-year-old girl who is currently finishing her second high school studies with the aim of studying economics in English next year at university.
I think that I am a totally suitable person for this job, since I have a good command of 4 languages (English, French, Spanish and Catalan) and I have a big ease at learning new ones.
On the other hand I am skillful at techs and enigmas, that is why I know that decoding codes would be the perfect work for me, and furthermore,I am a person with a lot of patience and secretive, so save a secret like this would not become any problem for me.

In addition to the above, I am a hard working, reliable person and I take my responsibilities very seriously.

I hope you will consider my application favourably. I would be delighted to make any meeting to solve any doubt that you have.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Laia Contreras.
Are love-locks romantic or a menace?

Love-locks are a fad that many people follow. We can see these padlocks hanging from many bridges, as in the river Seine of Paris. But this trend, however romantic it may seem, can also be partly dangerous.

On the one hand, some people might say that it is a harmless display of love. An act performed by couples to show their love and make a promise to each other: they can never be separated. Love-locks are becoming a beautiful tradition for all those lovers, who every year they meet together to reinforce their relationship with this act.

On the other hand, others might argue that these love-locks destroy the city's charm and its natural essence, turning the landscape into an iron chaos. Although they reaffirm their discontent by saying that it can be dangerous, since the railing of a bridge can be broken by the weight of the padlocks and hurt someone, and furthermore, the changing of the railing is an economic expense for the city. The most serious problem is that its weight can make the bridge collapse.

In conclusion, I believe that love-locks are a beautiful tradition, which should continue to be done but with adequate safety measures to avoid any accident that could happen.
